Normally bugs don’t creep me out too badly. I just kill them. This morning I found a spider crawling in my room, it’s body was rather large and it was black with some white dots. It was too big and scary to squish. So I trapped it under a glass candle holder. What do I do now? I think I just might wait until it dies, how long do you think that will take? Maybe I can get one of my fellow small group girls to dispose of it on Tuesday night.
My dad recently bought some waverunners. I’m going to visit in a few weeks. We’re going to have so much fun!
I really enjoy my job most of the time, and consider it a huge blessing from God. The exception would be when I get faxes from our state contact telling me that the radio script that I submitted was not approved because it wasn’t sent in ‘camera ready’ form. I know!? I pick and choose what I bother to explain to her. This time I chose to explain to her how to unselect ‘view mark-up’ in word, so that she could see the document in ‘camera ready’ form. In the past, I’ve also had to capitalize words in a radio script to get approval. Again, don’t know why that matters, since it’s a radio script and the only person that will see it is the guy recording it for us. Anyway, I’m way off base here, let me get back on track…
This is supposed to be a post about why life is good, and more specifically why I like my job. I’m currently very excited about a project that I’ve been working on. My company has been operating in the dark ages. Don’t get me wrong they are great at what they do, and we are leading the pack among our competitors, but there are certainly some things that need changing. One of them being how we send out some of our Newsletters – we’ve been doing fax blasts! Yes, cheesy word docs with clip art being faxed to thousands! Hello, it’s not the 80’s anymore. It was another departments responsibility, but a bit ago, I was apparently bored (not really, I always have more than enough to do) so I created some work for myself, by throwing out the idea of moving to email. Our CEO was immediately on board and of course announced to a large group of our providers that we were moving to email. Consequently this project has now been top priority around the office here. Which is kind of fun in that I’m getting really fast responses from the IT team on what’s needed from them.
So I’m having a good time with it, and what’s so great about this project, well really about where I work, is that even though it’s top priority, and it needs to be done ASAP, I’m not stressed about it, or worrying about it at night. I feel like it’s cheating to work on such a big project virtually stress free.
Life is good.
I think I’m becoming addicted to Panera’s Fuji Apple Chicken Salad. Tonight I am having it for the 3rd time in a week and a half. It’s so yummy!
