Apparently there is an unwritten rule, that after you’ve been dating someone longer than 6 months, it’s completely acceptable for those around you to put you on the spot, and ask you questions.
Quite honestly I don’t know if M and I have been dating for more than 6 months, I guess it depends on when you start counting, and I haven’t felt the need to put an official date on it, but according to some members of my family and the unwritten rule, it’s been 6 months, or close enough.
So just to clarify… I don’t care how long I’ve been dating someone, it is not acceptable to ask the following questions:
I’m confident that no one likes being asked these questions, so let’s just all agree to stop.
Questions #1-#3 are only acceptable to ask after I’m wearing a ring, until then you can assume I don’t know the answers. And question #4 is just never an acceptable question to ask. Really people, come on.
